The curriculum of the Department of English for Global Communication is focused on guiding students to English language fluency in speaking, reading, and writing. Students also develop additional professional skills for careers in teaching or business, depending on the concentration they choose. Hungkuang is unique in its emphasis on a comprehensive humanistic education. Therefore, students develop a strong liberal arts foundation that sets them apart from their peers.
Students will earn a minimum of 128 credits–50 in required courses, 40 in elective courses, and 38 in general education. Students will also need to attain a score of 550 on the TOEIC (or equivalent). Students will also complete an internship (320 hours) in the summer before their final year.
